A friend of mine knows a band that is already signed, Exit Ten. They have a contract that is lenient and allows them to create music videos with them with a lot of control. I talked to one of the members and got the contact details of their manager.
The call with the manager was okay, we talked about their contract and how they could do what they want in music videos but it had ' to be run past the company and the manager'.
So i said that i was willing to instead of making a narrative video i could make one of the band performing their song in a recording studio and also some shenanigans and put it together for a more relaxed video and its definitely something i could if quality was something the company was going to worry about
But then he said he would rather have a director with some experience in the field rather than have a 'high school media studies enthusiast' but will try to contact me in a few weeks.
He seemed like an actual arse.
I contacted two of the members of the band that i knew and they said we could just make the video but there was a risk of me being in deep trouble with their company if i used their song.
So i decided to have a back up in case the stupid manager leaves me hanging.
