Pre Production - Planning and Building set plans

(not the pitch!! - just writing down our possible plans for a set)

Me and Rafia have decided that the majority of the music video will be at a desk with pictures and letters pinned onto a wall in front of it.
We've decided to create a set in the attic in my house. - The only problem being that its extremely messy and dusty there. So then I thought i might as well begin slowly creating a space for the set so to get more of a visual understanding of what we can and cannot do.
I have taken some pictures and will continue to create the set and document my progress on this blog.

When i first climbed up the ladder to the attic. And the half i wanted to use was a complete mess.

cleared up most of it and thought this part would be a good place to create the set. also found a big white board...(i think its part of an old desk?) - make it stand to use as a wall piece for the set - and  the rug (rolled up leaning against the wall) on the floor.
Also found some new cream, beige and brown cushions in bags..and since the rug is also cream and white i thought it could a colour theme we may just look into later...

On the floor i laid bin bags and taped them down so i could then place a rug I found on top - because my mum wasnt keen on me using a rug thats hardly been used being placed onto the attic floor which is still a mess after me trying to clean it for hours.

Found working sockets right at the place we need it - this way we can plug in some "fairy lights" we were hoping to use to create "corner of a bedroom" set.

That is all i did today, later this week im going to tackle the ledges (the logs of wood holding up the roof) and put boards infront of them and figure out how to keep them in place so to create a corner set and to also hunt down the old net curtains and lights to drape on top of them.

  1. www clear evidence of early planning which should be of use during the shoot.

ebi remember to include media language to make clear the link between the theory and the practice.
